Re-edit Blog

This editing day in class was a very special one because we finally put together our final pieces of our film.  It was very hard to get the editing to be perfect and smooth but we finally did.  We thought we were finished and we had our teacher check and then we realized we had a lot more improving to do. For starters we had too many seconds so we had to find ways to cut down time without removing any of our clips.  After that once we finally got the time down then we realized the transitions between scenes were kind of choppy so we had to work on this moving smoothly and making the flow into each other better.  Another thing our teacher told us we needed to improve was we had one of our title scenes last three slides and she thought it was too long so then I made sure to remove it and only keep it for the first scene.  Once we finished all those we had one of the other groups watch our film one more time and see how it was not from the summer anything we just wanted some personal opinions from other people outside of a group and then after that it was a job well done.  I’m very pleased with the way that my film turned out, i think its a great short film.  I honestly think if I was to sell this movie to a producer as a pitch I feel like they would buy it because it would be very interesting. I’m very hard on myself so I feel like if I enjoyed the film and the way that the editing came out I feel like everybody was especially another movie producer.  The editing studios were all working today in class with me today there is no lag no crashing nothing it all turned out great We remembered to bring our flash drive with all receive stuff and got to work.

Re-shoot Blog

The re-shooting film day was probably the most overall important filming day there will be.  This day allowed us to make enough re-clips to make sure that there’s a good one of each scene, it also allowed us to finish up on some missing signs that we did not complete.  Before we did the re-shooting film we edited in class so we knew exactly how we needed to reshoot some of the scenes exactly the timing the camera angles etc.  it worked out in our favor which we knew it would because we planned properly.  The recent day was also the most fun and action packed because we were able to be more lenient and chill with our time since we had a lot filmed already and we went into it knowing our game plan.  While we had a great time filming and made great progress and pretty much finished up all of our filming scenes for our movie scenes, I also had the most fun in general i Made a ton of new memories and fun moments that will last me a lifetime and I am so thankful to have been in this situation and then put with this amazing group.  I think it’s really hard to find a group text and have so much fun but be so proactive at the same time it’s truly a blessing.  It was also our second time having all of the group members together we are all very busy with school jobs and afterschool activities that it was hard to get us all together at one time so the reshoot gave us a perfect opportunity to work on that.  It’s always fun and can be productive filming with missing group members but there’s something different when everybody’s there it’s just like energy or connection in the air.  I also got to film a lot of my parts as the wolverine and it was so much fun wearing the mask and chasing around people with a knife scaring people, barking, making tons of noise and chaos.  I feel like the wolverine fits me perfect because it’s kind of where I am as an individual so I can express my personality into the film which means a lot.  I’m a big believer on what’s meant to happen will happen in this film as it is a great example of that, I got the play the true part of me As in some of the other films I don’t play this my character I kind of reenact somebody else.  Since this was an original film and was created from scratch and allowed us to all brainstorm and include our own feelings And thoughts in the making at the most original and wholesome film there could be.  You know it’s real when every day you wish you were here but I film because it’s so much fun and you’re so passionate about it.  It’s been a great learning experience and I am so proud of myself and seeing how far I’ve came I know so much about filming and I feel like I’ve matured and improved as an individual.  I did most of the camera work in the as long as I wasn’t in the scenes, and I can almost see the difference in how much more smooth and stable I am compared to when I first started out a few months ago.  Nothing in this world and always more than seeing my own progress so every time I pull up the camera it makes me want to go harder and better and better.

Peer Review

After watching the first parts of the other groups film I really enjoyed it.  There wasn’t too much to watch but with the few clips that we had I took a lot from it.  There is two major things that stood out to me and caught my eye.  The first being the cool affects that were added into the film.  There’s a bunch of cool transitions and different affects added in effect that really makes it more interesting and more towards the youth.  A lot of kids like stuff that pops up or catch their eyes and really makes them feel more entertained.  I also really like the close-ups, I feel like there’s not enough close-ups in most films and there is a ton of them there is even one scene where there is a close-up and then effect in the close-up and that’s what really stood out to me as the viewer/critic.  It’s hard to make a ton of suggestions to such a nice piece to put together film especially one that doesn’t have that many clips and isn’t completed.  Although I will recommend two things I would first off say I think they need to speak more clearly, being a clear speaker is one of the important things in the film industry, mumbling or slurring your words makes it almost impossible for a family to sell or be enjoyed.  Throughout this film it was very hard interpret some of the words it didn’t flow properly.  It should be an easy fix after some editing and maybe re-speaking over the clips maybe voice overs.  I would also recommend that they speak up more speak with their chest and say the words with the passion so that the audience do use that same connection that they are giving.  That’s why when I’m filming I make sure I do each clip and seen 2 to 3 times so that when I go back to edit I know I can choose from the best one and that one of them will be a success.
